Carmel Apples

4 bags of carmel pearls
a bag of apples
white chocolate bark
milk chocolate chips
semi sweet chocolate bark
cinnamon chips
cinnamon sugar
* any other topping you may want

okay this is just delicious!
Take your carmel pearls and put them in a crock pot on low and let them melt. This will probably take about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, take a pot of water and boil it. Then take your apples and dip them into the boiling water. This gets all the film to come off of the apple and allows the carmel to stick better. dry the apples off and put them off to the side until your carmel is ready to go. Once the carmel is melted,  you take a spoon and cover  your apple in carmel. The best thing to put your apples on at this point is a cookie sheet with wax paper on it. Make sure that the wax paper has been sprayed with cooking spray so that the apples don't stick. Once you have all your apples on the sheet put them into the fridge. Let them set up in there for about 20 minutes. This allows for the carmel to harden on the apple. Now comes the fun part. Take any type of covering you want and set them out. I personally like white chocolate  and cinnamon and sugar with cinnamon chips. This is kind of like an apple pie. But you take your melted chocolate and apply it to your carmel apple and you have to get it all on as fast as you can and then put it in the freezer for like 2 minutes just so your chips don't fall to the bottom. Anyway from here your creativity gets to take over! it is a blast. Once they are done put them back into the fridge until you are ready to eat!!!

twiced baked potato

take a potato and bake it in the oven at 400 F. This can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. Once it is done, take the potato and cut it in half. Then scoop out the pulp,  the inside, and put it in a bowl. At this point, you can add scallops, cheese, bacon, whatever you want. Mix them all together and put them back into the potato skins. Put the potatoes back into the potato for another 15-20 minutes. Take out and ENJOY!

Mashed potatoes.

10 large potatoes
2 sticks of butter
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz of sour cream
salt to desired taste
Take the potatoes and cook them with skins still on. This can take up to 40 minutes depending on the size of our potatoes. Then drain the water out and mash them halfway  with a hand masher. Then add in your two sticks of butter. Mash the potatoes some more then put the cream cheese, sour cream and salt. Mash until desired texture.
* this amount will feed a family of 7 and still have left overs :)

free food..

okay so i haven't forgotten about this wonderful blog, but part of being a homemaker you have to be thrift. So most of my meals the past couple of days have been free food provided by some organization on campus. That would be my advice for this post. Look for things, meetings or social events that provide free food. You will get to gain knowledge on a group or something you didn't know and also save money and get fed. This is handy no matter what stage of life you are in. :)

Hash browns.. eggs. toast

okay so this one is not anything new, but it delicious and simple and even better if you have tons of potatoes that you don't know what to do with.

so take your egg and prepare it any way you like. I recommend sunny side up/poached. This way you can put it over your hash browns and have the yoke run over it. Do your toast however you want to. Now comes the hash browns.

1potato for every serving prepared.
 salt
pepper
Take your potato, clean and skin it. Then take a cheese grader and shred your potato. Once this has been done take it to the pan. They will turn golden brown and that is when you k now they are close to being done. Continue to cook until you feel they are done for your taste.
put egg on top of hash browns and toast on the side and ENJOY!

Fluffy French toast

1/2 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
Stir together dry ingredients. Blend the milk and egg in a separate bowl. Then add flour mixture and milk/egg together. Take thick/thin bread and dip it into the mixture. then deep fry in oil until done. This is like a pancake covering a piece of french toast! DELICIOUS!
